Sep 25, 2014. #19. I also get 8 - 8.5 L per 100 kms in town. E90 320d Auto with 18's. This is in heavy traffic (bumper to bumper) for 30kms a day. If I get onto the highway it drops to 5.5 to 6 L. But I have a heavy foot and every other week or so I get 9.5 - 10 L. Still its way better than a 323i or 325i. The car is a 110kW facelift manual (2002). After every fill-up (63 litres), I am able to drive only about 600km (375 miles). The MPG is around 26. This is from brim-to-brim tests. When filled, the OBC reports the distance-to-empty as 1000km (over 600 miles). Reported average MPG is around 46. This is way off from the real world tests.
Bear77. Sorry of your poor fuel efficiency. My previous 318D 2010 averaged about 44 to 48 mpg but that was mostly up and down dual carriageways. My most recent purchase a 2011 320 D currently sits at around 55-ish mpg. I struggle to get it below 45 or 44 even when doing just town journeys.
