The good news for veteran Jak fans is High Impact has done its history homework, taking elements and influences from the best instalments in the series - i.e. not Jak X.
The Jak and Daxter series still stands as one of the best platformer series ever created, and every gamer should make it a point to play through them.
Horribly stiff controls, bad graphics, subpar animation, sloppy mechanics, bad camera, and it just overall did not play like a Jak game. That's not even mentioning the shortcomings when it came to the story, writing, and characterization (Jak and Keira did not feel or act like Jak or Keira at all).
Jak's victory musics, Precursor Heroes is based off his first game (Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy) and To Another Adventure is a direct remix of "The Brink" from their sixth game (Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier) respectively. Jak and Daxter's losing screen is a reference to the death scenes in Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy and Jak 3.
